| Trivia |
+ ICWTR was no. 5 on the Japan Box Office in the opening weekend.
+ In the ICWTR Japan premiere, the red carpet was made in the shape of a cross,
imitating the movie's poster and main symbol. 5000 fans attended the event and
they were given ICWTR umbrellas. At the end of the event, just for the TV
cameras, the actors were to yell, “I come with the …..” and the fans were
supposed to answer “RAIN!!” and lift their umbrellas.
+ ICWTR was supposed to premiere in the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, but it was
only shown to buyers.
+ In Japan the film is being hyped as a showcase for three of the world’s “most
beautiful men” - Hartnett from the US, Kimura (of the J-pop group SMAP), and
Byung-hun Lee from Korea.
+ ICWTR is Tran Anh Hung's first English film.
+ Tran explains that "the casting took a really long time. The thing I was most
looking for in the actors was, in addition to their talent, that the humanity of
the characters would come across in their appearance."
+ Tran: "The theme of my film is the agony of the flesh, and how one perceives
that. The age we live in is full of terrorism and war; the reality is that lots
of blood is flowing. I want my film to make you experience that in new ways."
+ "The rain" can only be found in the title of the film. When Tran first wrote
the script, he had an image of Jesus appearing in the rain. But during the
revision stage of the script, the rain slipped off some time or other.
+ The film was shot in HD, using state-of-the-art cameras. (used for Apocalypto, Collateral, Miami Vice) |

Lee Byung Hun
Q: The deal for Josh Hartnett as the main cast is special. As a Korean Top Actor, do you feel inferior?
A: Maybe there is such a feeling at times, but is it necessary? Because he is affable like a friend, when the first time I went to Hong Kong for photography, Josh Hartnett took the initiative to greet me happily. It seems that this person had just watched “Bitter Sweet Life” DVD in the car. We cordially discussed about the remake of “Bitter Sweet Life” in US. Because this is the first time to use English during filming I was worried. But I think it’s all the same when come to expressing human feelings.
